Many people are curious about art in Lagos but don’t know where to start, what spaces are open to them, or how to engage.
LGW lowers that barrier by making galleries visible, welcoming, and connected. It invites first-time visitors in, without flattening the depth of the work.
Lagos Gallery Weekend 2026 exists because the city’s art scene is growing faster than its infrastructure, visibility, and shared moments of alignment. Artists are producing strong work. Galleries are taking risks. Writers, curators, and audiences are paying attention. But too often, these efforts happen in isolation.
LGW 2026 is about focus. It creates a clear window in time where Lagos pays attention to its own art ecosystem at once. A moment where exhibitions open together, conversations overlap, and people move through the city with a shared purpose. That kind of alignment doesn’t happen by accident. It has to be designed. We are holding Lagos Gallery Weekend 2026 to build access.
